THE FARMHOUSE THAT PROMOTES SUSTAINABLE FARMING IN PIEDMONT

CULTIVATIONS

When I moved to this farmhouse in 2018, the estate already had a vineyard planted with Barbera and Moscato. Determined to carry on the tradition of the farmers who came before me, but from a greener perspective, I am moving from ‘traditional’ to a more sustainable agriculture.

The first goal I am achieving is to improve the health of the soil, air and water by reducing field work and diesel consumption, I have minimised phytosanitary treatments and am gradually increasing the use of organic fertiliser. The first goal to be achieved is organic farming, which will only be the first step in my journey.

I recently planted some hazelnut fields, partly to carry on the agricultural traditions and typical crops of the area, and partly as a tribute to my agrarian professors, who had asked me about hazelnuts in both the botany and arboriculture exams (and I had not studied them the first or second time…). We will see them grow together from year to year.

I have also planted fruit trees: apples, pears, apricots, peaches and plums of different varieties, so that I can show my guests how much difference there is in the plant world.

The orchard will be useful for educational moments on the farm, where we will talk together about the organic world, what it means to have untreated fruit and how to recognise it.

BREEDING FARMS
- LAYING HENS

The rooster Maurice and his family are an integral part of my days, giving me fresh eggs and lots of joy every day. Bred according to the ‘free range’ system, they too are an integral part of the teaching. It will be possible to feed them and we will discuss the differences between ‘having organic certification’ and ‘being truly organic’, which is only possible through the ‘free range’ system, which provides the animals with much more welfare and freedom than the traditional organic system.

THE ROOMS

All the rooms at the Sette sentieri farmhouse are independent, with a dedicated bathroom, TV, independent heating and air conditioning.
Three of the rooms are double, one is triple. Extra beds can be added on request.
One of the rooms has disabled access and service.

LIVING ROOM

The guest lounge, with a view of the yurt, is ideal for relaxing at the end of the day, with a TV, board games, foosball table, and a bookcase with DVDs and shared books. You are therefore welcome to bring your own books and DVDs to leave at the end of the experience and take new ones, so that every traveller after you can somehow get to know you (it would be great if you could leave them with a dedication).

SWIMMING POOL

The pool of the seven paths is available to welcome you at dedicated times, and will also be the venue for some very special holistic practices. In the evening under the stars, with soft lighting and music, its atmosphere is simply magical.

For proper use, please consult our regulations.

EXTERNAL SERVICES

A service has been set up outside the main body of the farmhouse for the use of guests during the practices of the seven trails.

ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
A recharging service for electric cars is ready to welcome you, should you decide to opt for such a car.

MY COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

The renovation saw the old oil boiler being replaced by a more sustainable pellet boiler, the farmhouse has a solar thermal system for hot water, and a photovoltaic system to power the house lights and induction hobs.
